How to Prepare
Bring an outfit or costume that can get wet and still photograph well. Fitted costumes, dancewear, cheer uniforms, athletic wear, and bold colors usually work best. Hair and makeup should be finished before arrival.
Please bring a towel, a change of clothes, and anything needed to freshen up after the session. The studio is indoors, but the performer will get wet during the session.
A Controlled Studio Experience
Rain Sessions are photographed indoors using a controlled setup. The session is directed carefully, and we keep the process organized so performers feel comfortable and confident.
Because water is involved, simple and safe movement works best. We’ll focus on strong posing, expression, and controlled motion rather than risky tricks.
Rain Session FAQ
Will I get wet?
Yes. The performer will get wet during the session, so bring a towel and a change of clothes.
What should I wear?
Dance costumes, cheer uniforms, leotards, athletic wear, and fitted outfits usually photograph best. Avoid anything that becomes see-through when wet.
Can siblings do a session together?
Yes, depending on the session type siblings can be added for as little as $150. Group options are available for groups of 4 or more.
Is this only for Dancers?
No. Rain Sessions work well for dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts, athletes, seniors, and creative portraits.

Rain Sessions are photographed in the Doug Dienelt Photography studio in Streamwood, Illinois.
Do I need to know how to pose?
No. The session is fully guided.
